Hello fellow pirate families! My name is Melissa Neal. I am excited to be your child's kindergarten teacher at Siegrist Elementary this year! This will be my 10th year of teaching! I began my teaching career in 2010, however I took a few years off to raise my 3 girls, but I am very excited to be back in the classroom!
Kindergarten is my absolute favorite place to be and is truly my passion! The joy and excitement, desire to grow and learn, and the sense of adventure that young children posses, truly makes kindergarten unique and exceptional space to be in!
My husband Jonathan and I have 3 girls. Presley (10) is in 5th grade, Emery (7) is in 2nd grade, and Rory (3 1/2) is in preschool. Presley and Emery attend Siegrist and love visiting our classroom! Mr. Neal also loves visiting our classroom regularly and is one of the head Watch D.O.G.S. at Siegrist! Outside of school, you can find our family cheering on our girls in their activities or plugged into our local church! In my free time l enjoy baking, all things Disney and Wicked, and watching sports, especially
football! Our family are HUGE Chiefs fans!
I received my Elementary Education degree from Missouri Western State University and also hold a degree in Special Education and Early Childhood Education.
I am excited to partner with you, work with you, and watch your child thrive this year! My goal for our year is to instill a lifelong love for learning, while helping instill confidence, curiosity, adaptability, and self-motivation. I look forward to a wonderful school year together!
