Students must live within the boundaries of the Platte County R-3 School District and provide verification. New Student Enrollment Process

Families new to Platte County School District should complete Online New Student Registration linked here to begin the enrollment process. You'll first need to create a PowerSchool enrollment account.

Gather the following documents before completing student registration:

  • Student's Birth Certificate
  • Custodial Agreements - if applicable
  • Proof of Residency Documentation (electric, gas, sewer, or water utility statement; current residential lease agreement; or residential housing sales contract)
  • Your Child's Social Security Number
  • Current Immunization Records

Student Records Release Form

As part of the new student enrollment process, Platte County School District requests records from the student's previous school. Please complete the appropriate form and email to the email listed on the form. 

Individual school buildings may have additional enrollment forms to complete. Please visit the district calendar for new student enrollment dates for each school, or contact the District Education Center at 816-858-5420 to inquire about new student enrollment dates.

New students enrolling at Platte County High School may pre-register during the months of June and July, to fill out necessary paperwork, provide documents, and schedule an August meeting with their counselor. Prior school records are needed in order to ensure that your student is enrolled in the proper classes to meet educational needs and graduation requirements.

Any changes to transportation should be made prior to August 3, and can be made by visiting the District Education Center Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., beginning June 3.

New Student Enrollment Days, Registration Dates, and "Back to School" Nights

New Student Enrollment Days. All schools have identified dates designated for new student enrollment. Visit the district calendar for these dates (typically in early August). If an alternative date is requested to visit the school, provide documentation, ask questions, etc., please contact the school directly to schedule.

Registration dates. Platte City Middle School, Platte Purchase Middle School, and Platte County High School students have specified days for registration. These dates are set aside for receiving class schedules, locker assignment, depositing lunch money, fees, and fines payment, etc. Visit your school's calendar pages for these dates.

"Back to School" Nights. Meet with your child's teacher(s), familiarize yourself with the classroom and school, deposit money in child's lunch account, drop off school supplies, etc. Visit your school's calendar for this year's dates.
