
Last week, Siegrist had the exciting opportunity to participate in the Roving Chef program, designed by SFE (Southwest Food Service Excellence). This interactive cooking and learning experience is all about getting students excited about food and healthy eating!
Chef Steve led the way, with Leah providing valuable assistance to students throughout the experience. Together, they taught students the basics of food preparation and showed them how to recreate the meal at home. With their “chefs in training” ready to go, Chef Steve demonstrated each step as students followed along to create their very own noodle salad!
Students from Mrs. Caraway’s class learned through step-by-step instructions how to make their dish. Leah discussed the nutritional value of each topping and encouraged students to sample ingredients they hadn’t tried before. Each student then visited the topping station to personalize their noodle salad and finished by mixing it all together with Chef Steve’s special dressing.
